  A: In order to service and repair the Crankshaft Position Sensor, first install a scan tool and read the powertrain control module dtcs; case if dtcs other than p1336 should be present, refer to the dtc list for more information. Choose the crankshaft position variation learn procedure from the scan tool and watch for the fuel cut-off for the engine. Follow the scan tool's instructions: need to lock the drive wheels, set the vehicle's parking brake, turn the ignition off and back on, press and hold the Brake Pedal down, start and idle the engine without the a/c on, put the transmission into park (A/T) or neutral (M/T). The scan tool will also be monitoring the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor activity, camshaft position (CMP) sensor activity and engine coolant temperature (ECT); in case any conditions apply, look into the relevant dtcs or run the engine idle until the coolant is at a suitable temperature.
