How to replace the rear axle upper control arm (except RPO FE4) on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?

Vehicle maintenance for rear axle upper Control Arm (except RPO FE4) replacement starts with vehicle lifting and stable support. The wheel assembly needs removal before disconnecting the wheel speed sensor connector and electronic suspension control sensor link. Separate the suspension knuckle from the upper Control Arm through use of the ball joint separator (J 42188). After placing a jack stand under the lower Control Arm users can loosen but not remove the upper ball joint stud nut while removing the ball joint separator (J 42188) and ball joint stud nut from the ball joint stud. Begin by removing the bolts that secure the upper Control Arm to the frame. Then take the upper Control Arm out of the vehicle. The new upper Control Arm gets installed first followed by mounting bolts application to the frame with tightening torque set at 110 n.m (81 lb ft). To install the suspension knuckle upper ball joint stud into the upper Control Arm utilize an allan wrench as needed for the ball joint stud nut tightening procedure to achieve 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque and a 195-degree turn. After connecting the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and the electronic suspension control sensor link return the vehicle to its original height. After lowering the vehicle and wheel alignment replace the jack stand from the lower Control Arm and reinstall the tire and wheel assembly.
