2008 Chevrolet Uplander Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Replace a Power Sliding Door Lock Actuator on 2008 Chevrolet Uplander?
A: Before replacing the power sliding door lock actuator users must disable the PSD system by taking out the PSD 15A fuse within the instrument panel fuse block. This action will prevent both right-hand and left-hand power sliding door modules from functioning. Begin by removing the sliding door inner trim panel and then detach the sliding door water deflector before removing the sliding door lock module. The replacement process begins with the removal of rivets that connect the power sliding door latch release actuator following which you should detach the entire actuator. Open the end of the actuator rod away from the latch release actuator. Secure the actuator rod to the new latch release actuator by position it correctly and fasten it with rivets. The process requires you to mount the actuator directly onto the lock rod before placing back the sliding door lock module. You should put back the sliding door water deflector followed by the inner trim panel. The PSD system can be restored after replacing the 15A fuse because this will restore low current logic power to both PSDMs enabling them to learn open and close positions of PSD.
