How to replace the LH Motor and Transmission Mount on 2009 Chevrolet HHR?

To replace the left side transmission mount, the negative Battery Cable should be disconnected first. Remove under hood electrical center cover and disconnect the engine control module (ECM) harness connector (3, 4). Then, you can pull off the positive battery cables from the underhood electric center and also the surge tank inlet hose off the surge tank. Remove the underhood electrical center tray bracket nuts (1,2 and bolt) followed by disconnecting the wiring harness retainer from the tray bracket. Lift the electrical center up to make way for it. Pull up on the transmission using a floor jack while placing a piece of wood in between the jack and the transmission. Undo the transmission mount to transmission bolts and also undo the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts. Gradually lower down the transmission in a way that eliminates the transmission mount of the vehicle. For installation, begin the mid-rail transmission mount to the mid-rail which hand starting of the bolts tightening to 34nm (25lbft). Screw the transmission up towards the transmission mount until it meets the mount and the mount to transmission bolts using hand started without prying. The order for starting the transmission mount to transmission bolts is as follows. Rear bolt, then middle bolt, and then front bolt, there after tighten to 65 nm (48 lb ft). Install the nuts of underhood electrical center (1, 2) and bolt by tightening the nut to 10 nm (89 lb in) and bolt to 25 nm (18 lb ft) by connecting the wiring harness to tray bracket. Attach the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank and install the positive battery cables to the underhood electrical center, tighten the positive cable nut to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Reconnect the engine control module harness connectors (3, 4), then reconnect the negative Battery Cable, and lastly unlock the underhood electrical center cover.
