How to replace the front Motor and Transmission Mount on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?

The vehicle needs to be lifted then supported before starting the front transmission mount replacement. Drill out the front transaxle mount thru bolt before uninstalling both the mounting bolts that connect the transaxle mount to the transaxle and finally removing the mount from its position in the vehicle. You must apply torque to the transaxle bolts in the specified sequence during front transaxle mount installation. First install the front transaxle mount then apply 50 N.m (37 lb ft) torque to the transaxle bolts. Crank the front transaxle mount through bolt by hand and leave it in a loose state to allow the front and rear transaxle mounts to naturally settle. The next step involves adjusting the relaxability of the rear transaxle mount through bolt. The transaxle mount through bolts receive tightening in this sequence: Start by applying 100 N.m (74 lb ft) torque to the rear bolt before torqueing the front bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft). Finally, lower the vehicle.
