Use the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) to compress the transverse spring before removing one of the lower Control Arms and the transverse spring bolts and retainers and discard the old bolts. Position the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) on the transverse spring before fitting it onto the crossmember. You must maintain the compressor in place before installing the shock absorber because removing it early might lead to pad misalignment on the bolt which could result in damage or rattling sounds.
