    A: The procedure for replacing the A/C Orifice Tube starts with refrigerant recovery of A/C systems followed by front evaporator tube to rear evaporator tube retaining bolt removal. Prior to disconnect the evaporator tubes, cap and tape all accessible components to block system contamination. Begin by getting rid of the O-ring before applying a necessary cap to the rear evaporator tube. Use the A/C Orifice Tube Remover (J 26549-E) to remove the A/C orifice tube during evaluation seek signs of a broken plastic frame together with a torn or damaged filter screen (1, 2), a damaged or plugged brass A/C orifice tube or filter screen coated with metal chips, flakes or slivers. To reuse the A/C orifice tube you must clean it with low pressure shop air before putting a new O-ring in place.
