In order to replace the
Spark Plug Wires, you first need to remove the engine cover. Remove the Spark Plug wire from each Spark Plug on the left side of the engine by twisting the boots 1/2 turn before you remove them, and pull only on the boot or use a tool for the job. Do the same for the Spark Plug Wires on the other side of the engine. Then unplug the Spark Plug wire from the
Distributor, twisting the each boot 1/2 turn and pulling exclusively on the boot or a tool. Nuts on Spark Plug Wires must be taken off from wire clips, while coil wire must be removed from Distributor & coil. For installation, use a small amount of the dielectric silicone grease (GM P/N 12345579) at both boots of the Spark Plug Wires. Connect the coil wire to the coil and the Distributor and put in the Spark Plug Wires at the Distributor. Continue the action to attach the Spark Plug Wires to each of the spark plugs on the right (left), right side (left side), then hold the wires firmly in the clips. Elevate the wires by pulling on each boot to verify seating, replacing any loose boots and make sure wire routings are continued to avoid radio ignition noise, cross-firing plug or shorting the leads to ground. Finally, reinstall the engine cover.
