Begin the replacement by disconnecting both the intermediate shaft from the Steering Column and removing its Steering Column seal. Collapse the intermediate shaft using downward force before removing the intermediate shaft seal bolts though you might need to separate the lower fragment of the intermediate shaft seal from the steering gear. You need to take away the intermediate shaft seal from the Steering Column. Begin installation by positioning the intermediate shaft lower seal onto the steering gear then follow with placement of the upper seal over the lower seal until it reaches the instrument panel. First install the intermediate shaft onto the Steering Column then position the intermediate shaft seal onto the Steering Column. The intermediate shaft seal bolts need to be tightened to 3 n.m (27 lb in).
