    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a system on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Recovery of refrigerant must proceed before disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. The first step involves disconnecting the accumulator cover while also detaching the evaporator hose from the accumulator cover. Subsequently disconnect the positive Battery Cable from the underhood fuse block as well as its associated nut before completing removal. The first process is to remove the accumulator cover followed by loosening the a/c compressor hose nut on the accumulator. Disconnecting the a/c compressor hose along with the evaporator hose from the accumulator completes this step. The technician shall install the new accumulator into the housing using fresh sealing washers after adding correct refrigerant oil amounts to it. Install the evaporator hose onto the accumulator while torquing the evaporator hose nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Connect the a/c compressor hose to the accumulator while installing the a/c compressor hose nut then tight it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The technician should reinstall the accumulator cover before connecting the evaporator hose into its retainer then install the positive Battery Cable along with the underhood fuse block nut which should be tightened to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The service ends with connecting the negative Battery Cable while charging the a/c system before using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to test the fittings for leaks.

    Q:
How to properly service and replace the A/C Accumulator in a Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should recover the refrigerant followed by Battery Cable disconnection prior to replacing the accumulator. First disconnect the accumulator cover from the evaporator cables by removing the accumulator cover. After disconnecting the cables from the underhood fuse block then remove the positive Battery Cable nut and cable. The first step includes removal of the a/c compressor hose nut from the accumulator while disconnecting the a/c compressor hose before taking off the evaporator hose nut and the evaporator hose from the accumulator. Complete the repair by taking out the accumulator from its housing position. Before reinstalling the a/c lines and hoses, check for damage to the seal washers while installing the accumulator properly filled with the appropriate amount of refrigerant oil into the housing. Secure the evaporator hose to the accumulator followed by tightening its hose nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). You should connect the a/c compressor hose to the accumulator followed by installation of the a/c compressor hose nut at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Place the accumulator cover into position then connect the evaporator hose into the retainer followed by installing the positive Battery Cable with nut to the underhood fuse block and tighten the nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The negative Battery Cable requires connection for a/c system recharge and the technician should test the component fittings using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).

    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a refrigerant system on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the accumulator you must recover all refrigerant from the system. Start by releasing the positive Battery Cable from its position on top of the accumulator cover then free the snap clamp which holds the evaporator hose to the cover. Start by removing the cover from the accumulator before taking out the evaporator hose nut and hose itself. The accumulator requires the suction hose nut to be removed along with the suction hose after the disposal of both hose sealing washers. Free the retainer after removing the accumulator while draining its stored oil. During new accumulator installation you need to add oil if needed. Install new sealing washers onto both hoses after attaching the evaporator hose to the accumulator while placing the suction hose nut and washer before fastening the hoses to their respective locations. First secure the evaporator hose nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque before installing the suction hose and its matching nut set at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The accumulator cover requires proper attachment to the accumulator only after all snap fasteners have been correctly engaged. Please direct the evaporator hose to the accumulator cover before snapping on the clamp. Refrigerant system recharge begins following the battery clip placement on top of the accumulator cover. The third part of the process involves conducting leak tests on fittings using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
