    Q:
How to install the A/C Accumulator (AC P/N 15-1697) on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin installation of the A/C Accumulator (AC P/N 15-1697) by taking out the air cleaner followed by engine Coolant Reservoir and finally removing the pieces of the grille. Then extract the evaporator tube from the vehicle. Measure 60 mm (2.5 in) from the condenser end but mark the spot on the evaporator tube before measuring 50.8 mm (2 in) further. When you use a tubing cutter on the marked section of the evaporator tube keep metal burrs out of the tube both during cutting and removal. Tread the burrs from the pieces afterward placing nuts followed by ferrules on both ends of the evaporator tube. Position the small end of the ferrules towards the nut before fixing the A/C Accumulator onto the evaporator tube using the flow arrow direction towards the evaporator. The technician should hold the evaporator tube inside the A/C Accumulator while tightening both nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The A/C Accumulator darfits nuts when the maintenance process begins. The o-rings should receive 525 viscosity refrigerant oil coating before being placed on the evaporator tube. Install the nuts into the A/C Accumulator while tightening them to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The end of the procedure encompasses evaporator tube reinstallation into the vehicle while charging the a/c system. The technician performs a leak test with halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) on repaired components' fittings before reinstalling the grille and engine Coolant Reservoir and air cleaner.

    Q:
How to install the A/C Accumulator (ACDelco P/N 15-1697) to the A/C evaporator tube on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Install A/C Accumulator (ACDelco P/N 15-1697) to the a/c Evaporator tube (liquid line) next to the condenser and Evaporator by first removing the air cleaner, engine Coolant Reservoir, and grille. Before measurement begin by removing the Evaporator tube from the vehicle. Afterward find 60 mm (2.5 in) from the condenser end to make a placement mark. Perform this operation with a tubing cutter at a 50.8 mm (2 in) length from the mark to cut the section of Evaporator tube while ensuring no metal burrs enter the tube during cutting or removal. Place the smooth side of nuts along with ferrules over each half of the Evaporator tube after removing the burrs. Place ferrules onto the Evaporator tube having their small end directed at the nut before attaching the A/C Accumulator with its flow arrow facing the Evaporator. During this operation keep the Evaporator tube inside the A/C Accumulator while tightening nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Place 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the o-rings before installing them onto the Evaporator tube. Fasten the A/C Accumulator nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque. Last, reinstall the Evaporator tube into the vehicle and recharge the a/c system before using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to check for leaks then you can put back the grille, engine Coolant Reservoir and air cleaner.
