    Q:
How to replace the rear axle shaft on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must begin the rear Axle Shaft replacement procedure by removing the wheels along with tires. Take off the clip that holds the rear Brake Drum only if needed before continuing with rear Brake Drum removal from the vehicle. Start by taking out the rear axle housing cover followed by dismantling the lock pin bolt and extracting the pinion shaft. The next step is to remove both the c-lock of the rear axle followed by pulling out the rear Axle Shaft. Begin installation with the new rear Axle Shaft alignment and afterward attach both the c-lock on the rear axle and the pinion shaft. Put the lock bolt into place then tighten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). First replace the rear brake drums before attaching the rear axle housing cover as well as the gasket onto the housing. Finish the axle-fluid filling procedure before putting back the wheel and tire installation.
