    Q:
How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the booster replacement by turning off the ignition switch then press and release the brake pedal to elimiantate vacuum reserve. Unplug the electrical connector and take off each piece of the vacuum sensor together with its hose to set them apart. Keep the brake pipe fittings connected when you loosen Brake Master Cylinder nuts and hold the unit up firmly with mechanics wire. Look for damage on the o-ring seal of the master cylinder and order a replacement if see signs of damage. Take out the Brake Booster pushrod retainer bolt first and then the retainer to disconnect it from the stoplamp switch electrical supply. To access the vacuum brake power booster remove its clamps and detach the pushrod from the brake pedal socket before pulling out the booster while discarding the gasket. Install a new ring on the vacuum booster first then position the booster and torque its nuts to 33 nm (24 lb ft). Install the Brake Booster pushrod on the brake pedal pin followed by the stoplamp switch and its electrical connector. Use a 10 nm torque value (89 lb-in) to fasten the Brake Booster pushrod retainer and bolt . When taking off the o-ring seal, mount it back onto the master cylinder body, fit the master cylinder against the booster and torque the Brake Master Cylinder nuts to 33 nm (24 lb ft). When needed a tiny amount of denatured alcohol would simplify connecting the parts. Reattach the power Brake Booster vacuum sensor equipment as well as the vacuum hose while plugging the electrical sensor connector back in.

    Q:
How to replace the hydraulic brake booster on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the hydraulic Brake Booster requires application of the park brake along with blocking the wheels. You should disconnect the inlet hose along with the steering gear while separating the return hoses from the booster assembly but keep all pipes attached to the master cylinder. The mechanic should detach the master cylinder to hydraulic booster nuts before placing the master cylinder in the engine compartment. First disconnect the stop lamp switch and afterward remove the 4 booster to bulkhead nuts before extracting the booster assembly with its gasket. The steps for installing the new gasket include its placement ahead of installing the booster assembly. Place the 4 booster to bulkhead nuts and torque them to 33 nm (24 lb ft). After installing the stop lamp switch proceed to install the master cylinder onto the Brake Booster while securing its nuts to 33 nm (24 lb ft). The procedure ends by adding the return hose together with the steering gear and inlet hoses before bleeding the hydraulic booster system and freeing the park brake and opening the wheels.

    Q:
How to replace the power vacuum brake booster on GMC Yukon? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to apply the parking brake and exhaust the pressure in the vacuum reserve by pressing the pedal three times until it feels solid. Pull off the power vacuum Brake Booster electrical connections for dod sensor and active booster before removing the vacuum hose attached to the check valve as well as both master cylinder nuts with the original o-ring vacuum seal sticking to the master cylinder. Securely fasten the master cylinder in place using strong mechanics wire. Take out the Brake Booster pushrod retainer bolt followed by its retainer part and remove the stoplamp switch. Unplug the Brake Booster pushrod from its spot at the Brake Pedal and uninstall the Brake Booster nuts before removing the power vacuum Brake Booster along with the discarded gasket. One person should insert the new Brake Booster gasket while another helper joins in to install the power vacuum Brake Booster properly. First bolt the Brake Booster nut on its top right side then install all Brake Booster nuts to 33 nm (24 lb ft). Put the Brake Booster pushrod onto the Brake Pedal pivot pin while adding the stoplamp switch and brake pushrod retainer. Secure the retainer bolt with 10 nm of torque. Click the vacuum hose to its preinstalled check valve and join electrical wires to both the dod sensor and booster connector. Put the master cylinder back into position before tightening both master cylinder nuts to 33 nm (24 lb ft).
