    Q:
How to replace the front brake calipers on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of caliper replacement for the front brakes starts by lifting the vehicle and then removing the wheel and tire combination. The next step is to remove the front brake hose bolt before you install a plug into the front brake caliper hose to prevent both excessive brake fluid loss and damage to internal components. Get rid of metal/copper gaskets before installing new copper gaskets. Drain the front brake caliper by removing guide pin bolts and detaching the front brake caliper from its mounting bracket. The brake caliper guide pin needs denatured alcohol cleaning followed by drying using filtered non-lubricated air before applying silicone brake lubricant at the high temperature area of the pin. Add high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pin and position the front brake caliper on its mounting bracket while making sure to avoid contact between the lubricant and brake pad hardware. Begin by tightening the leading bolt next to the bleed screw first before installing the front brake caliper guide pin bolts with 64 nm (47 ft. Lbs.) torque. First install new metal/copper gaskets to the front Brake Caliper Bolt followed by installing gaskets to the front brake hose bolt before tightening the brake hose bolt to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). After hydraulic brake bleeding is complete the vehicle needs to receive its tire and wheel assembly and its subsequent lowering.

    Q:
How to replace the Brake Calipers on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Lift the vehicle into position and support it properly at the beginning of brake caliper replacement. Take the wheel with tire off the vehicle. Replace the brake hose fitting gaskets with new ones during your work. Separate the brake caliper from its brake hose fitting by first taking off the bolt and secondly removing the gaskets then the brake fitting. Place a fitting cap on the hose to maintain the brake fluid supply during replacement. Once raised and supported, you must remove first the brake caliper guide pin bolts and then the brake caliper itself. Install the brake caliper at first and make sure to put the brake caliper guide pin bolts into place while tightening them to 64Nm (47 lb ft). Insert fresh brake hose gaskets when connecting the brake hose fitting bolt and gaskets to the brake hose fitting. Fix the brake hose assembly to the caliper and wrench-tighten the fitting bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb ft). After bleeding the brake lines you will put on the tire wheel unit.

    Q:
How to replace the front brake calipers on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the front brake calibri, first lift the vehicles and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Next, also remove the front brake hose bolt and install a plug in the front brake caliper hose in order to avoid too much loss of brake fluids and contamination. Remove the metal/copper gaskets and install new copper gaskets. Spin off the front brake caliper guide pin bolts and pull the front brake caliper off the mounting bracket. If the brake caliper guide pin is being reused, it may require cleaning followed by drying with non lubricated (filtered air). Use denatured alcohol to clean it up. Apply the high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pin noting not to let any lubricant come close to the brake pad hardware, then place the front brake caliper to the mounting bracket and tighten the leading bolt next to the bleed screw before all others. Mount the front brake caliper guide pin bolts by tightening to 64 n.m (47 lb. Ft.) while making sure to only use new copper gasket for front brake caliper bolts. Install front brake hose bolt and gaskets attaching it at 40 n.m (30 lb ft) and bleed the hydraulic brake system. Finalling, lift the vehicle to install the tire and wheel assembly.
