Catalytic Converter, Passenger Side

First, lift the vehicle, to replace the Catalytic Converter for the dual exhaust on the right side. Take out the Oxygen Sensor connectors as well as the Exhaust Hanger bolts, removing the hanger from the vehicle but remember to protect yourself with protective goggles and gloves. Then unbolt the nuts that hold the Exhaust Pipe with the flange to the Catalytic Converter pipe, then loosen the nut holding the Exhaust Pipe with the clamp to the Muffler and then remove the Exhaust Pipe and the flange gasket. Materials required for installation include removal of oxygen sensors and installation into the new Exhaust Pipe with 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.) of tightening. Mount a new gasket onto the Catalytic Converter pipe flange and connect the Exhaust Pipe to the vehicle and tighten using the nuts for the Catalytic Converter pipe to the Exhaust Pipe while use the flange nuts to tighten the nuts to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Tighten the Exhaust Pipe clamp nut to 54 nm (40 ft.. Lbs.) and check the exhaust system for the clearance and alignment of all components. Lastly, mount the Exhaust Hanger and bolts, torquing the bolts 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.), and let the vehicle down.

You must begin by lifting the vehicle before putting on protective goggles and gloves to guarantee safety. Unscrew the nuts which secure the Exhaust Pipe flange to the catalytic converter pipe and the Exhaust Pipe flange to the Muffler. You should remove the Exhaust Pipe with its two flange gaskets. The installation process requires new gaskets on both the Muffler flange and catalytic converter pipe flange which precedes installing the Exhaust Pipe. Before installing, place new gaskets on both flanges and proceed with the installation of Muffler nuts to Exhaust Pipe then catalytic converter pipe nuts to Exhaust Pipe while tightening the nuts to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Exhaust system clearance verification together with component alignment checks must be performed prior to lowering the vehicle.

Install a new gasket to the catalytic converter pipe flange, then attach the exhaust pipe to the vehicle.

Remove the exhaust hanger bolts and hanger from the vehicle, following exhaust service precautions and wearing protective goggles and gloves.

Remove the exhaust hanger bolts and the hanger from the vehicle, observing safety precautions regarding exhaust service and protective gear.

Tighten to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

Remove the nuts retaining the exhaust pipe flange to the catalytic converter pipe and the muffler, then take out the exhaust pipe and flange gasket.

Remove the exhaust hanger bolts and hanger from the transmission, then take off the nuts and seals that secure the catalytic converter pipe to the exhaust manifolds.

Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp nut to 54 Nm (40 lb ft).
