Unit repair includes the needed procedures, machining, cleaning, inspection and fitting while changing engine parts such as boring and honing the cylinder, fitting the connecting rod and bearings, fitting the Crankshaft and bearings, replacing the camshaft bearings, removing the connecting rod and Piston, removing the Cylinder Head, changing the valve train items (valves, seats, springs, rockers and so on), removing the Oil Pump, fitting the pistons and rings, fixing the threading, grinding the valve and seat and servicing the timing equipment (chain, belt, gears).

    To replace a Crankshaft position reluctor ring, then you need to first remove the engine front cover and then you can remove the reluctor ring. It is extremely important to align the reluctor ring appropriately because improper alignment may lead to damage to the components and negative impact on obd ii system operation. When installing the reluctor ring on the engine, one must be certain that it is installed facing towards the engine front cover to prevent also cracking the front cover as well as the reluctor ring. It is in the shape of a dish. Mount the reluctor ring such that its keyway aligns with the Crankshaft balancer key, and use a j 5590 pinion bearing race installer (J 5590) to force the reluctor ring onto the Crankshaft until it achieves full contact with the Crankshaft sprocket. Lastly, install the engine front cover finally.
