    Q:
How to Safely Replace the Dimmer Switch on a Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
A procedure to change instrument panel (I/P) Dimmer Switch begins with disabling sir system operation. First remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate which sits on the i/p carrier then disconnect the electrical connector from the Hazard Warning Switch when needed. Open the electrical tap from the Dimmer Switch then activate the retaining clips by using a small flat-bladed instrument from the Dimmer Switch's front side. Using your fingers remove the i/p cluster trim plate Dimmer Switch by pushing outward from the front panel position. Position the Dimmer Switch into the opening on the i/p cluster trim plate then push it inside until the assembly reaches its full position. Reconnect the electrical connector to both the Dimmer Switch and Hazard Warning Switch when reinstalling. End your installation by fitting the i/p trim plate onto the i/p carrier followed by enabling the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
First turn off sir before you remove the Steering Column multifunction switch mounting screw and take the switch off its position. Take the electrical connections off the multifunction switch unit. Join the electrical cables to the multifunction switch and secure it onto the Steering Column by letting the spring-loaded horn pin sink into place. Fix the mounting screw into the multifunction switch and tighten it to 4 nm torque setting. Set the sir system active and test if the multifunction switch works properly.

    Q:
How to replace the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The sir system needs disabling before starting the i/p Dimmer Switch replacement process. The instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim plate requires removal from the i/p carrier for access to disconnect the electrical connector from the Hazard Warning Switch if required. As a starting point disconnect the electrical connector from the Dimmer Switch and use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage the retaining tabs of the Dimmer Switch. Pulling on the Dimmer Switch through the front of the i/p cluster trim plate allows its removal. Place the Dimmer Switch inside the i/p cluster trim plate opening before pushing it until it is completely seated. The Hazard Warning Switch electrical connector must connect with the Dimmer Switch and the i/p trim plate needs to lock into its carrier slot. Finally, enable the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the dimmer switch on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
If you want to change the dimmer switch , make sure you first turn off the SIR system. Take off the IP cluster trim plate from the IP carrier and disconnect the hazard warning switch connector if it is still connected. You should then disconnect the dimmer switch 's electrical connector and push the flat end of a tool between the retaining tabs to release them. Ensure to push the dimmer switch from the front of the IP cluster trim plate to take it out. Put the dimmer switch into the opening in the IP cluster trim plate and press it in until it locks into place. Attach the dimmer switch electrical connector and, if you took it off, connect the hazard warning switch connector too. After that, put the IP trim plate onto the IP carrier and turn on the SIR system.

    Q:
How to properly service and repair the dimmer switch on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the replacement of the dimmer switch by disabling the SIR system. Begin by removing the instrument panel cluster trim plate from the IP carrier then disable the hazard warning switch electrical connector when needed. Detach the electrical connector of the dimmer switch then use a flat-bladed tool to pry open the release tabs. First disconnect the dimmer switch from its position by pressing inward at its edge with one hand holding the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Place the dimmer switch into the instrument panel cluster trim plate then use light pressure to fully engage the internal tabs . If required reconnect the electrical connector to both the hazard warning switch and the dimmer switch. Reinstall the instrument cluster trim plate to IP carrier before turning on the SIR system.

    Q:
How to service and repair the turn signal switch on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
To work on the Turn Signal Switch you should disconnect the car battery and turn off the sir system. You need to unfasten the trim over your Steering Column then unscrew the multifunction switch torx head screw and disconnect all electrical pins attached to the switch. Take out the multifunction switch unit from its column position. Insert the multifunction switch over the Steering Column when you push the spring loaded horn pin down then connect all electrical cables to the switch. Fit the torx screw to the multifunction switch and tighten it to 4 nm (35 inch lbs). Reattach the trim cover before enabling the sir system and connecting the Battery Cable negatively. Close the exam by testing if the multifunction switch works as intended.
