How to overhaul the front brake calipers on 2001 Buick Century?

You need to take the brake caliper out of the vehicle first to do its front brake overhaul. Direct low-pressure air blows the caliper piston out through the fluid inlet hole. Pull the piston dust boot seal out from its place in the caliper seal counterbore using a small plastic tool then put the part aside. Next remove the piston seal from the caliper. Take away the bleeder valve and cap from the caliper unit. Users must refrain from using abrasives with brake caliper pistons. Use denatured alcohol or equivalent to clean and dry the caliper parts including piston bore, seal bores, and piston thanks to non-lubricated filtered air. Check the caliper bore for damage before proceeding and replace the entire caliper when finding cracks, erosion patches, and heavy rust. Only disk harmless rusted areas with light emery cloth to preserve the caliper. You must replace the entire caliper assembly if you find any damage such as cracks, scoring, pits, or severe corrosion on it. Test the caliper piston for evidence of chrome plating damage and replace it when needed. Place the new piston seal in the caliper bore then apply delco supreme 11 (GM P/N 12377967) brake fluid lubrication from a sealed container. Install the caliper piston into the bore before placing the new piston dust boot seal onto it. A caliper piston dust boot seal installer or its equivalent allows you to drive the seal down until it reaches the accepted 78.08 mm (3.074 inch) seal counterbore and 63.52 mm (2.501 inch) piston bore dimensions. Securely put the bleeder valve and cap in the caliper, fasten the valve tightly and return the front brake caliper to the car.
