How to replace the window channel in the door on 2001 Cadillac Eldorado?

Begin your replacement task by taking out the trim panel with the water deflector, sealing strip, and window. First undo the front upstop adjuster nut and part then remove the bolt while being cautious not to harm the seal here. Turn the top of the front run channel away from the mirror and push it toward the bottom of the door until it detaches from the retainer. After that pull up the bottom end of the channel to get it out. To install place the front run channel parallel to the bottom of the door and insert it from the inside. Then position the lower adjuster into the retainer before pushing the top of the channel up. Set the retainer next to the bolt hole and fasten the bolt by tightening it to 11 N.m (97 lb in). Apply upstop adjuster first then place the nut and tighten it to 9 N.m (80 lb in) force. Put a small amount of GM P/N 99882386 or equal lubricant on the channels without using it on the door window or belt line sealing strips. Put the window in place and make needed adjustments before adding the sealing system components which include the sealing strip water deflector and trim panel.
