2002 Chevrolet S10 Door Lock Actuator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear door lock actuator on 2002 Chevrolet S10?
A: The process to change the rear Door Lock Actuator starts with removing the door trim panel then continues with removing the water deflector followed by the Door Latch Assembly. You must remove two screws which hold the lock actuator to the latch. The actuator should be carefully lifted and rotated to remove the rubber Bumper from the latch before the actuator comes out. Beginning with rubber Bumper installation on the latch requires proper alignment of the first gear teeth between actuator and latch components. Fully grasp the rubber Bumper with appropriate turn of the actuator towards the latch before placing the actuator into its mount position at the top of the latch. The installation requires you to secure the actuator to the latch by tightening its screws using 0.75 n.m (6 lb in) torque. The process ends with reinstalling the latch after putting back the water deflector then the door trim panel.
