How to replace the front disc brake pads (JL9) on 2007 Cadillac STS?

Before starting the Brake Pad replacement, check the brake master cylinder fluid level in the reservoir. Drain fluid from the system until the level stays between the maximum-full and the minimum-acceptable marks when the fluid is at its midway point. Lift the vehicle and take out the tire wheel set before moving forward. Place a large c-clamp over the caliper bore and press its pistons inward until the caliper can move past the brake rotor. Afterward take off the clamp. When holding the guide pin with a wrench turn the brake caliper lower pin bolt loose. Hold the caliper in place during work with heavy mechanic wire to avoid hydraulic brake hose damage. Brake the caliper body upwards and lock it in place without putting tension on the hose before taking out the brake pads to check the retainers. Before installing check if guide pin bolts and pins show wear replace them as needed and examine guide pin boots and piston boot to determine if replacement is needed. Take a large c-clamp and push the caliper pistons fully inward before removing the tool to put Brake Pad retainers and new brake pads into the caliper bracket. Position the caliper down on top of the pads before applying threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to 2/3 of the threaded bolt length for the lower caliper pin bolt. Spread silicone lube on the guide pin of the front brake caliper before adding the lower caliper bolt that needs to be secured at 63nm (46 lb-ft). Put back the tire and wheel combination before deploying the vehicle. As you turn off the engine slowly push the brake pedal to 2/3 of its range then allow it to return to normal position. You need to perform this operation until the brake pedal feels strong and refill the brake fluid reservoir following the required depth. Also polish the pads and rotors at this stage.
