Start by supporting the vehicle then follow this by removing wheel assembly and Brake Backing Plate replacement. The first step is to remove the Brake Drum followed by removing the brake shoes. Remove both the universal spring from the Brake Backing Plate and then the Wheel Cylinder. After releasing the rear park brake cable end fitting from the drum Brake Backing Plate remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly. The replacement ends with removing the Brake Backing Plate. Begin your installation by placing the new Brake Backing Plate then install the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Fasten the rear park brake cable end fitting to the Brake Backing Plate before installing the Wheel Cylinder and universal spring on the backing plate. Brake shoes need to be installed and the drum brakes adjusted. The Brake Drum should be installed before performing both pressure and manual methods of hydraulic brake system bleeding. Add the tire and wheel assembly and then lower the vehicle to its original position.
