How to replace the front brake calipers (J55) on 2009 Cadillac DTS?

Before replacing the front brake caliper (J55) you must check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. If the reservoir fluid rests midway between maximum and minimum marks (stop) here, fluid removal is not required. However, if the fluid level exceeds this point, drain it down to reach the mid-point. Put the vehicle on jack stands to access the wheel area and locate its position to the axle seat before removing the tire and wheel set. After tightening a large c-clamp on top of the brake caliper you can remove it once the pistons move past the brake rotor into their proper position. Before disposal disconnect the brake hose from the caliper bolt and throw away both copper brake hose gaskets by plugging their openings to shield brake fluid. Take off the brake caliper by removing its bolts. Cleaning the existing brake caliper components with denatured alcohol and blowing them dry with filtered non-lubricated air is sufficient for reuse. Set the brake caliper on top of brake pads into its place while adding thin silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper pin bolts to protect Brake Pad components from receiving the lubricant. Put in the brake caliper pin bolts and torque them to 113 nm (83 lb ft) by using new copper brake hose gaskets. Add the brake hose bolt together with gaskets to the brake caliper and tighten it at 45 nm (33 lb ft). Turn off the engine and press the brake pedal gradually to reach 2/3 of its potential before letting go. Traverse through this process during brief intervals while watching for solid brake behavior to guarantee Brake Caliper Piston and pad placement. Put back the tire and wheel parts while lowering the vehicle down.
