How to replace the lower control arm on 2009 Cadillac XLR?

To change the lower Control Arm, first, lift and hold the vehicle, then, remove the tire and wheel assembly. Then remove the front transverse spring and disconnect the electrical base from the Wheel Speed Sensor. Take off the shock absorber and the stabilizer shaft link of the lower Control Arm. Loosen the ball joint stud nut on without doing it off and this is to be undermined out of the removal in use of j-42188-b to separate the lower ball joint stud from the Steering Knuckle then the stud is removed. Mark where the cam bolt is before removing in order to reinstall it, and remove the cam bolt washers and nuts that hold the Control Arm to the cross member before removing the lower Control Arm. For installation, apply the new lower Control Arm and install the cam bolts and washers and nuts laying them as indicated during the disassembly. Pre-torque the cam bolts not all the way to specifications because of the need for a wheel alignment. Raise the lower Control Arm with the jack stand and while the Control Arm up install the lower ball joint stud to the Steering Knuckle using an allen wrench to prevent the spinning while securing with the ball joint stud nut to 30 nm (20 lb ft) as well as 180 degrees. Connect the stabilizer shaft link with the lower Control Arm and fasten it with 72 nm (53 lb ft), then the front transverse spring. Mount the shock absorber onto the lower Control Arm and fasten it to the specified torque of 28 nm (21 lb ft) and then the Wheel Speed Sensor harness will be reconnected. Replace the jack stands, re-install the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, and adjust the front wheel alignment, fitting the lower Control Arm cam bolt nuts to 170 nm (125 lb ft).
