- Q: How to properly handle the Throttle Body replacement process on Buick Enclave?A:Before you can replace the Throttle Body assembly it requires you to take off the air cleaner outlet duct. Pull off the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control and take off the Throttle Body bolts. Remove also the Throttle Body and the law gasket, throw away the old gasket. For installation, a new Throttle Body Gasket and Throttle Body should be placed on the upper Intake Manifold, making sure to follow the fastener. Mount the Throttle Body bolts and tighten to the tune of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the electronic throttle control and install the air cleaner outlet duct. Lastly, execute throttle learn operation.
- Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on Buick Regal?A:To change the Throttle Body assembly, start by turning off the ignition and draining out the radiator coolant. Remove the fuel injector sight shield then disconnect the intake Air Temperature Sensor electrical connector from the intake Air Temperature Sensor, remove the intake air duct from the Throttle Body disconnected the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector from the iac valve disconnected the throttle posititive (tp) sensor electric connector from the tp sensor, disconnected the mass air flow (maf) sensor electric connector from the maf sensor. Next, remove the firewall insulator and heater hose mounting plate. Then, disconnect the cruise control cable and accelerator controls cable from the accelerator controls cable bracket , then the cruise control cable and the accelerator controls cable from the Throttle Body lever . If applicable, remove the electrical harness retainer clip from the accelerator controls cable bracket and vacuum hoses from Throttle Body, indicating where they belong. Remove the nut from the air injection pipe, the 3 nuts and bolts that secure the Throttle Body to the supercharger then pull off the Throttle Body assembly and the acelerator controls cable bracket if replacing Throttle Body. Clean the gasket surfaces of the supercharger and Throttle Body assembly without the use of solvent because such an activity could harm the surfaces. In the event of installation, and if needed, attach the accelerator controls bracket to the Throttle Body and on tightening the bolts it goes up to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Add a new gasket, inserts, and studs, if necessary, and then install the Throttle Body assembly and secure it using retaining nuts and bolts tighten to 10 n.m (7 lb ft). Inspect the air injection pipe and loosen the nut to stop you from overtightening. Make sure it is an easy to turn nut and tighten properly to 10 n.m (7 lb ft). Attach vacuum hoses to the Throttle Body, then accelerator control cable and cruise control cable, to accelerator control bracket at Throttle Body . Make sure the throttle moves without binding between. Full closed wide open throttle first then put in the accelerator control cable to the Throttle Body lever and the cruise control cable to the Throttle Body lever . Check for complete throttle an opening and closing by operating the accelerator controls pedal, than the electrical harness check retainer clip and harness to accelerator controls bracket if applicable. Lastly, connect maf sensor electrical connector on the maf sensor, tp sensor electrical connector on the tp sensor, iac valve electrical connector to the iac valve and intake air duct to the Throttle Body and tighten clamp to 2 n.m (18 lb in); 5.7. Return engine harness to the cylinder head. Install the fuel injector sight shield back and refill the radiator to cover the lost amounts of coolant.
