The passenger compartment air filter can capture most of the dust and pollen found in air that gets drawn into the vehicle and also requires regular updating. With the filter removed it might make sense to install a new air filter before operating the climate control system, because without it water or debris might enter the system and the system might begin to leak or produce noise. The position of the filter is below the hood, below windshield Wiper Arm and screen on the top side of the passenger. To remove it, employ the wipers but obtain a straight-up position of the wipers and turn the ignition to on/run, but switch off the engine, and switch the ignition off also to gain access to the leaf screen. You should open the hood, pull out the three screws that hold the screen, and then pull the screen up while sliding it toward the center of the vehicle. Remove the two tabs on either side of the filter cover, lift this cover straight up, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Finally, take the steps to reinstall the cover but in reverse order.
