How to replace the MAP Sensor on Cadillac Escalade?

Engine sight shields require removal before starting the replacement of the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor. The first step requires removal of the MAP sensor electrical connector after which the sensor itself should be taken out. Before installing the new MAP sensor apply a thin layer of clean engine oil to the sensor seal. Install the MAP sensor next before connecting the electrical MAP sensor connector followed by reattaching the engine sight shield.

How to replace the MAP Sensor on Cadillac SRX?

To remove the Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor, turn the ignition OFF and disconnect it from its electrical connector. Next, remove the bolt of the barometric pressure sensor and disconnect the sensor from it. For installation, start with installation of the new barometric pressure sensor, follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Next, install the barometric pressure sensor bolt and fasten it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). In the end, reconnect the sensor electrical connector.

How to Replace a MAP Sensor on Cadillac XLR?

Begin by performing a turn-off of the ignition before you remove the engine sight shield. The first step is to disconnect the electrical connector of the manifold absolute pressure sensor before removing it off its bracket. Check for leaks on MAP sensor vacuum line fittings (1,2) after removing the vacuum line fitting from the sensor's bottom. Connect the vacuum line fitting to the bottom port of the MAP sensor before placing the MAP sensor onto its bracket and installing the MAP sensor electrical connector. Reinstallation of the engine sight shield represents the last step in the process.
