Utilizing only hand tools detach the park brake cable adjusting nut while keeping the adjusting washer by maintaining the park brake lever at its released position. The front park brake cable should be removed by first detaching the rear park brake cable ends from the cable equalizer then pulling the front cable rearward from the park brake lever. The installation process starts with hanging the front park brake cable to the park brake lever and completing the rear cable ends attachment to the cable equalizer. Only hand tools must be used to install the washer and new adjusting nut onto the front park brake cable before cable tension adjustment and front floor console storage compartment reinstallation.
