How to install the A/C Accumulator (ACDelco P/N 151696) on Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

Start the installation of the A/C Accumulator (ACDelco P/N 151696) by recovering any refrigerant. Cut the evaporator tube 110 mm (4.3 in) from the condenser block fitting end by using a tubing cutter and avoid letting any metal shavings enter the tube. Cut the tube to 60 mm (2.4 in) after measuring it and remove burrs from both cut ends. The first step before ferrule installation on the evaporator tube requires removal of the o-ring which will be used with the A/C Accumulator. Install the taper-end of both ferrules along with one flare nut on the evaporator tube before seating the A/C Accumulator fully on the tube by making the arrow face the evaporator. Tighten the evaporator flare nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque. Follow the same tightening process for the second half of the evaporator tube by using a torque of 15 n.m (11 lb ft). First loosen the flare nuts so you can remove the A/C Accumulator before lubricating and installing an o-ring to both ends of the evaporator tube to ensure complete accumulator seat to the ferrules. The A/C Accumulator should be installed back in place with the arrow facing the evaporator and its flare nuts tightened to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Finish the process by installing the evaporator tube to the condenser tube followed by reassembly of the air cleaner unit then evacuation and recharging of the a/c system and conducting halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) tests on the fittings.
