To service and repair the rear brake caliper, install new parts, all items in the repair kit and lubricate the rubber parts with clean brake fluid to get the assembly easier. In case you take out some hydraulic component or disconnect it, you might need to bleed all or only part of the brake system, and
Brake Pads should be changed in axle sets only. Do not fail to apply torque values on dry, unlubricated fasteners and ensure all actions are carried out on a clean, mineral oil free bench. Exercise precaution so that fingers do not to be placed in front of the
Piston while using compressed air or it may lead to serious injury. First, uninstall the brake caliper from the vehicle. Put a small piece of wood in front of the Piston to protect it, then you release the Piston by blowing compressed air into the brake hose inlet fitting port of the brake caliper housing. Then, take off the Piston boot, piston seal, brake caliper bleed screw cap, and brake caliper bleed screw. Scrutinize the brake caliper bore and Piston seal groove for scoring and corrosion; in case of too much damage, replace the brake caliper housing. Also inspect the brake caliper mounting bracket guide surfaces for corrosion and wear mounting bracket if needed. Clean all residue from Brake Pad guiding surfaces on brake caliper housing and mounting bracket, as well as from all parts not in the repair kit using denatured alcohol, then using filtered unlubricated compressed air to dry the parts. Deflate all passes in the brake caliper housing and the brake caliper bleeder valve. Mount the brake caliper bleed screw and tighten it using 12 n.m, (106 lb in), then mount the bleed screw cap. Apply break fluid to lubricate the new Piston seal and brake caliper bore seal groove so that the seal is not twisted when you install it in the groove. Lubricate the brake caliper bore and Piston by using brake fluid, and then install the boot to cover the Piston, so that the fold should be oriented towards the brake caliper housing Piston bore opening. Set the boot into the brake caliper bore groove and slide the Piston into the bore, pressing it to the bottom. At the same time, the boot to be seated correctly in the Piston groove and the brake caliper bore groove. Finally fit the brake caliper back to the vehicle.
