The swivel nut should be tightened lightly to expose valve locks that can be picked off with a magnet. Use the swivel nut tool to loosen the device and redirect the arm to remove both valve spring parts. Push and turn the j 38820 valve stem seal installer to take out the old Valve Stem Oil Seal. Apply engine oil to the valve stem and insert the new seal through the j 38820 before pushing and twisting to install it correctly. Remove the Rocker Arm first and disconnect the Spark Plug wire at the Spark Plug with one 1/2 turn on each boot section and a gentle pull. When the engine temperature is at room level you should turn spark plugs one or two turns for brushing or cleaning with compressed air. Position the Spark Plug port adapter j22794 into the Spark Plug hole and connect it to the air hose. Then pass quality compressed air through the adapter to secure the valves. When using valve spring compressor j38606 press down the valve spring and then take out the valve stem keys. Lower the valve spring tension slowly while removing the compressor device. Unbutton the valve spring cap then remove the valve spring plus oil seal and shim set (valve spring, 1, 5). Add clean engine oil to the valve guide and Valve Stem Oil Seal before pressing in the Valve Stem Oil Seal and shim parts (1, 5) with the valve spring and valve spring cap. Feed the valve spring through the valve spring compressor j38606 and slowly release pressure until the valve keys fit into place with valve spring oil to stabilize them in the valve stem groove. Use a valve spring compressor to push the valve pressure off but keep the valve keys in place. Afterward check if the keys require seating by tapping gently with a plastic face hammer. Remove the j22794 adapter and turn the Spark Plug by hand before tightening it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Examine and align Spark Plug wires to both the ignition coil and Spark Plug ends while pushing each boot unit to test if it fits properly before replacing missing boots. Finally, install the Rocker Arm.
