How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on GMC Yukon?

The first step to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor (except RPOs LY2, LC9, Ly5, and LMG) is to clean the cmp sensor area to keep foreign matter from accessing the engine compartment. Support the vehicle before disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector which is connected to the cmp sensor wire harness. The crankshaft Harmonic Balancer continues in its original position since the instructions show its removal for visual purposes. The first step involves removing two cmp sensor wire harness bolts (738) while loosening the top bolt using a box wrench inserted through the Harmonic Balancer opening and turning it two turns. Unplug the electrical connectors of the cmp sensor wire harness from both the cmp sensor and the cmp actuator magneto before removing the cmp sensor wire harness (737) with cmp sensor (703) and o-ring seal (704). The o-ring must have intact condition before cleaning it with engine oil then placing the sensor. Begin front cover installation of cmp sensor (703) while the cmp sensor wire harness (737) gets positioned after. After joining the cmp sensor wire harness electrical connectors to the sensor and magneto of the cmp actuator install two cmp sensor wire harness bolts (738) and torque them to 12 nm (106 lb in). You should loosely tighten the top cmp sensor wire harness bolt by hand followed by box wrench usage through the Harmonic Balancer opening to achieve an extra 1/4 turn of torque (90 degrees). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector with the cmp sensor wire harness before lowering the vehicle.
