Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2 on GMC Yukon?
A: To replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2, you would first have to lift and support the vehicle. If for the 2 wheel drive (2WD) models, then remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer to disconnect the HO2S electrical connector from the engine wiring harness electrical connector. Skip for 4 wheel drive (4WD) vehicles. The CPA retainer needs to be removed along with the HO2S electrical connector that should be disconnected from the engine wiring harness electrical connector. Carefully remove the HO2S. When installing the old sensor, the threads should be coated with anti-seize compound GM P/N12377953 or equivalent, since special anti-seize compound is used on the HO2S threads in order to facilitate future removal. Install the HO2S and tighten it to 42 Nm (31 lb ft). In case of 4WD models, connect the HO2S electrical connector to the engine wiring harness electrical connector and install the CPA retainer. Then link the HO2S electrical connector to the engine wiring harness electrical connector and replace the CPA retainer again. Finally, lower the vehicle.
