    Q:
How to replace the Bank 1 Sensor 2 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Bank 1 Sensor 2 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), lift and support the automobile first. Connect the fuel system pressure sensor to the 2.8V reference of the fuel system pressure reference. Connect the ground to the ground of the fuel system pressure sensor. If applicable, check the fuel dump valve closure. Upon vehicles with a fuel composition sensor, open the HO2S electrical connector out of the fuel line up. For 4.8L or 5.3L engines, remove the HO2S's electrical connector and the same for the 6.0 L engine. Remove the HO2S. When reinstalling the old sensor, it pays to coat the threads with anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or factory equivalent since a special anti-seize compound consisting of liquid graphite & glass beads is applied to the HO2S threads to help make it easier to remove. SXDFI is a tool used to help remove the spend marks, conduct the multiple changes, drills, and also used for pointing. For 6.0L engine connect HO2S and do the same for the 4.8L or 5.3L engine. If necessary, affix the HO2S electrical connector to the fuel line clip, unplug the CPA retainer, and plug the fuel composition sensor electrical plug before lowering the vehicle.
