Window Regulator, Front Passenger Side

Slide-out the front door Window Regulator to be replaced. First, raise and support the front door window to be replaced; then remove the trim panel and the water deflector. Disconnect the wiring harness from the Window Motor assembly and then remove the 2 bolts that hold the window to the regulator as well as removing the bolts from the Window Regulator itself. Gently remove the Window Regulator assembly from the door by folding both sides. For installation, affix the regulator to the door, taking care to observe the fastener notice in service precautions. Attach the bolts to the Window Regulator and torque this to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Position the window relative to the regulator and mount it using the bolts and tighten them at 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reconnect the wiring harness to the Window Motor assembly, reconnect the water deflector, and the trim panel. Finally, open the window, lowering it and observing its functions.

The first step for replacing the front door window regulator begins with elevation and support of the glass window followed by removal of trim panel and water deflector components. Start by detaching the two bolts between the regulator and window before you remove bolts that secure the regulator. The door window regulator assembly can be extracted by first folding both regulator parts in unison together. You should attach the regulator to the door while following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Secure the regulator bolts while tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Position the window glass onto the regulator before installing bolts that secure the window to the regulator while tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The last step includes reattaching the water deflector followed by the trim panel while also lowering the window to check if it operates correctly.

One must start by supporting the window glass and raising it before taking out the trim panel and water deflector. Detach the two bolts which hold the window to the regulator and then unfasten the bolts from the window regulator. Disassemble the door window regulator by folding its opposite sides so that it can be completely extracted from the door framework. Place the regulator inside the door structure to install it while applying a slight twisting motion to achieve proper seat between the components. Before tightening the regulator bolt threads you must first spread Permatex Threadlocker (Part Number 24200, GM P/N 12345382). Fasten the window regulator bolts then tighten them at 9 N.m (80 lb in). Place the window glass on the regulator before tightening the bolts which will secure the window regulator with the same torque value. The last step involves reinstallation of the water deflector along with the trim panel followed by window lowering until inspection of its functionality is completed.

The front door window regulator change process begins with elevation and sustained support of the glass window followed by panel and water deflector removal. The next step requires you to remove both of the window-regulator securing bolts followed by disconnecting the bolts from the regulator itself. Gather the window regulator assembly from the door by joining its both sides together. Install the regulator by placing it inside the door structure then use a slight twisting action for a secure connection. Before tightening the regulator bolts apply Permatex Threadlocker (Part Number 24200, GM P/N 12345382) onto the bolt threads. Install bolts onto the window regulator before torquing them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Attach window glass to the regulator while installing the bolts which restrain the window to the regulator and secure these bolts at 9 N.m (80 lb in). After completing installation of water deflector, the trim panel, window lowering and operational inspection.

Loosen the two window clamp bolts on the regulator.

Tighten them to 9 N.m (7 lb ft).

Reinstall the speaker, water deflector, and door trim panel.

First, raise the window.

Remove the glass window to access the retaining screws.

Separate the motor from the cable housing by wiggling the window motor while observing its orientation, then remove the motor from the window regulator assembly.

The 2 bolts securing the window to the regulator and the bolts from the window regulator.

Slide the motor and housing assembly onto the rail and install fastener two.

Fold both sides together to remove the window regulator assembly.

Tighten these to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Position the regulator inside the door structure, ensuring it is firmly in place with a slight twisting motion.

Remove the bolts from the window regulator.

Take out the bolts from the window regulator and carefully remove the window regulator assembly from the door by folding both sides together.

Remove the bolts from the window regulator.
