Mass Air Flow Sensor

Before removing the mass airflow sensor/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor, shut off the engine and take out the maf electrical connector. After that, take off the air cleaner intake duct and remove the maf sensor fasteners one by one. Carefully take out the maf sensor and the seal, and throw away the old seal. When installing, first put the new maf sensor seal and the maf sensor in their proper place. Be sure to screw in the new maf sensor and tighten it until you reach 4 n.m (35 lb in). At the end, put the air cleaner intake duct back in and plug the maf electrical connector in.

To replace the mass airflow sensor/intake manifold temperature sensor, one should first disconnect mass air flow (MAF)/ intake manifold temperature (IMT) sensor modifications from the electrical connector, and then remove the maf/imt sensor screws. Treat the maf sensor with care so that it does not drop and therefore get damaged and also ensuring that the screen on the air inlet end of the maf is not damaged. Do not touch sensing elements and do not make them come into contact with solvents and lubricants; upgeniere it with a some small amount of soap based solution to help install it. Next, gently pry out the maf/imt sensor from the air cleaner housing duct and dispose of the old maf/imt sensor gasket. For installation, first put on a new maf/imt sensor gasket and then carefully install the maf/imt sensor into the air cleaner housing duct. Install maf/imt sensor screws and fasten them by turning them to 4 nm (35 lb in). Turn the maf/imt sensor electrical connector.

Begin replacing the mass airflow sensor/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor by removing the air cleaner assembly. To begin the replacement of the mass airflow sensor/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor you must first loosen the air cleaner resonator duct clamp before removing the air cleaner resonator duct. Begin by using an 8mm socket wrench to remove the maf/Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor bolts. Then detach the maf/imt sensor along with its seal. Install the new maf/imt sensor along with its seal in position according to the fastener notice for correct handling. Use a torque wrench to tighten the maf/imt sensor bolts to 4 n.m (35 lb in). Start by reinstalling the air cleaner resonator duct then secure it with the air cleaner resonator duct clamp before completing the installation of the air cleaner assembly.

Begin replacement of the Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) Sensor 2 by uninstalling the intake manifold sight shield. Take off the IMT sensor 2 electrical connector prior to removing the IMT sensor 2. Before installing the new sensor check that it matches the correct application part number then apply sealer to the sensor threads. Tighten the IMT sensor 2 to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) torque. Once you finish, attach the IMT sensor 2 electrical connector while reinstalling the intake manifold sight shield.

Remove the intake manifold sight shield and disconnect the IAT sensor 2 electrical connector.

Coat the sensor threads with sealer, as specified for adhesives, fluids, lubricants, and sealers.

Remove the intake manifold sight shield.
