    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin your Steering Wheel replacement by desactivating all restraint systems. To begin the process remove the inflator module and horn plunger from the Steering Column by pressing in until you reach the stop point then rotate the 90 degrees. Unplug the Steering Wheel electrical connection then remove the Steering Wheel retaining nut which connects to the Steering Wheel shaft. Steering Wheel removal requires j1859-a (J1859-A) puller alongside j-36541-a (J-36541-A) adapter or j42578 (J42578) puller legs to eliminate the wheel without ending the Steering Column shaft with hammering which would compromise the column's structural health. Guide the Steering Wheel onto its shaft then secure it with the retaining nut before tightening the nut to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Connection of the Steering Wheel electrical connector must precede horn plunger and inflator module installation and a final step of switching on restraint systems.

    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step in replacing the Steering Wheel is to disable the sir system. Remove the inflator module and the horn switch after that. This leads you to make an alignment mark to remember how the Steering Wheel relates to the Steering Shaft. Remove the Steering Wheel with the j 1859-a Steering Wheel puller and one of the two mentioned split apart devices, namely j 36541-a or j 42578. Next, line up the marks made before, take the Steering Wheel and place it onto the Steering Shaft, and tighten the Steering Wheel nut to 40 nm (29 ft. Lbs.). Afterward, install the horn switch, the inflator module, and electrify the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Steering Wheel replacement starts by disabling the supplemental inflatable restraint system and taking out the inflator module and horn switch. Create an alignment reference between the Steering Wheel and Steering Shaft and then loosen the Steering Wheel nut. You need a Steering Wheel puller (J 1859-A) working with either the Steering Wheel puller adapter (J 36541-A) or the Steering Wheel puller legs (J 42578) to extract the Steering Wheel. Place the initial marks from removal in position before mounting the Steering Wheel on the Steering Shaft and securing with a 40 nm (29 ft. Lbs.) torque on the Steering Wheel nut. The maintenance ends by reinstalling the horn switch and inflator module and enabling the sir system.

    Q:
How to repair scratched wood steering wheels on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step of wood steering wheel scratch repair involves the removal of the steering wheel. Misture the wood part with wax and grease remover before applying a protective mask to the non-wood regions. Sanding through the clear coat must never be allowed. Work with 400 grit sandpaper initially before finishing with 600 grit paper. Finish cleaning the wood section by passing it through another washing cycle with wax and grease remover. The application of clear coat on the steering wheel requires strict adherence to instructions found within the 2003 GM Approved Refinish Materials Booklet, both in its English edition GM 4901 M-D-2003 and French version M-D-F2003. Finally, reinstall the steering wheel.

How to replace the steering wheel on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the steering wheel firstly, be safe and notice the SIR Caution in Service Precautions, and then take off the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Mar the relation between the steering wheel to column before removing the steering wheel nut Use the Steering Wheel Puller (J 1859-A) and Steering Wheel Puller Adapter (J 36541-A) or Steering Wheel Puller Legs (J 42578) for separating the steering wheel from the column. For installation, line up the marked relationship reference and install the steering wheel onto the column . After that, attach the steering wheel nut and apply 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs) of torque to it. Lastly, replace the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.

    Q:
How to replace the steering wheel on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by removing the inflatable restraint steering wheel module as the first step for steering wheel replacement. Mark down the alignment between the steering wheel and column before you remove the steering wheel nut. The J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller (J 1859-A) with either J-36541-A Steering Wheel Puller Adapter (J-36541-A) or J 42578 Steering Wheel Puller Legs (J 42578) can be used to disconnect the steering wheel from the column. Follow the marked relationship points and place the steering wheel onto the column during installation. Following acts of installation is the torque application to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) strength on the steering wheel nut. Reinstall the inflatable restraint steering wheel module after completion.
