Brake Switch

Start brake light switch service by taking out the insulator panel from the driver's side. Take out the electrical wires then detach the stoplamp switch from its position on the brake pedal bracket. After reattaching the stoplamp switch to the brake pedal bracket you must connect both electrical connectors. Reinstall the driver side instrument panel insulator followed by readjusting the stoplamp switch to make sure it functions properly.

You should start by taking off the driver's side instrument panel insulator to access the brake light switch. Unplug the stoplamp switch from the car and take it off the brake pedal bracket. Put the stoplamp switch onto the brake pedal bracket and plug the connectors back in for installation. Once the stoplamp switch is adjusted, put the driver's side instrument panel insulator back in place.

Electrical work must begin by turning the ignition key to off or lock while switching all electrical devices to off. The negative Battery Cable needs to be disconnected when tools approach live exposed electrical terminals to guard against personal harm and vehicle damage. Non-compliance with correct servicing procedures might lead to air bag deployment together with personal injury as well as forcing unnecessary repairs to the supplemental inflatable restraint system. The service team should check if work takes place near sir components or wiring then disable the system. Place the knee bolster panel to the side while disconnecting the electrical connector from the cruise control release switch and removing the switch from its bracket screw. To install the cruise control release switch place it first into the brake pedal bracket retainer and then connect the electrical connector and readjust and fasten the cruise control switch to the retainer before finishing by reinstalling the driver side knee bolster panel.

Start your brake light switch service by taking the left side instrument panel insulator out of place. Unplug all electrical wires and take the stoplamp switch off its mount on the brake pedal bracket. Secure the stoplamp switch to its bracket on the brake pedal bracket while connecting the electrical connectors back. Put back the left side instrument panel insulator and line up the stoplamp switch to its optimum position.

Reconnect the electrical connector.

Reinstall the left side instrument panel insulator and adjust the stop lamp switch.

Remove the stoplamp switch from the brake pedal bracket.

Reinstall the left side instrument panel insulator.

Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the cruise release switch and remove the switch from its retainer on the brake pedal bracket.

First, remove the left side of the instrument panel insulator.

Remove the left side instrument panel insulator.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the stop light switch.

Attach the stop lamp switch to the brake pedal bracket and reconnect the electrical connectors to the stop light switch.

Rotate the switch clockwise until the travel stop is reached, approximately 60 degrees, which will position the electrical connector index notch at the 12 o'clock position.
