    Q:
How to replace the EGR valve on Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start the replacement of the exhaust gas recirculation valve by taking off the intake manifold cover. To replace the exhaust gas recirculation valve start by disconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the EGR Valve before removing the EGR Valve nuts, the valve itself and finishing with removal of the EGR Valve Gasket. You should clean both mating surfaces that will integrate the EGR Valve. One should install brand new EGR Valve Gasket and EGR Valve before securing EGR Valve nuts and torquing them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). In the last step of the procedure, attach the engine harness electrical connector to the EGR Valve before putting back the intake manifold cover.

    Q:
How to replace the EGR valve on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the exhaust gas recirculation valve requires the removal of any necessary fuel injector sight shield. First remove the engine harness electrical connector from the EGR Valve and then take out both egr bracket shield nuts along with the shield itself. Extract both EGR Valve bolts and the EGR Valve from its place before discarding the gasket used for the EGR Valve. The inspection of egr passages inside the water pump housing should be completed to remove accumulated deposits when needed. Apply cleaning to the EGR Valve mounting surface. Insert a new egr gasket into the egr installation while following the fastener notice and fasten the EGR Valve in place. Reinstall the egr bracket shield while tightening its nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Fasten the EGR Valve bolts to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Luke tops off the installation process by connecting the engine harness electrical connector to the EGR Valve and optionally reattaching the fuel injector sight shield.

    Q:
How to properly service and replace the EGR Valve on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve requires initial removal of fuel injector sight shield when required followed by disconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the EGR Valve. The egr procedure starts by unscrewing both shield nuts from the egr bracket and then removing the bracket shield before pulling out the EGR Valve by removing its bolts. Discard the worn EGR Valve Gasket before you clean the egr mounting surface of the valve and inspect and clean egr passages inside the water pump housing. Apply new egr gasket before installing the EGR Valve which should be bolted in place with torque at 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Reestablish the egr bracket shield together with its nuts which need tightening to 10 n.m (89 lb in) before connecting the engine harness electrical connector to the EGR Valve and reinstalling the fuel injector sight shield if previously removed.
