The weather strip butt joint seam needs placement at the center of the bottom pinch-weld flange before using a rubber mallet to achieve full pinch-weld flange engagement. Spoon-shaped manipulation of the weather strip could become essential to finalize the installation process. Finally, close the liftgate window.
