How to replace the right camshaft on 2005 Cadillac SRX?

Your right Camshaft replacement begins with the upper Intake Manifold and the lower Intake Manifold removal along with the removal of Camshaft cover and Camshaft sensors and the intake Camshaft position actuator solenoid. Begin by removing the Crankshaft balancer followed by rotating the Crankshaft with the Crankshaft rotation socket (EN 46111) to achieve neutral (low tension) position where Camshaft flats are parallel to the Camshaft cover rail. An open-end wrench secured at the hex of the Camshaft should stop engine rotation while assisting in loosing the Camshaft position actuator bolt which remains in place. Use the Timing Chain retention tool (EN 46108) by inserting it completely into the Timing Chain before tightening its retaining nuts. Note the positions of the Timing Chain and Camshaft position actuators before uninstalling the Camshaft position actuator bolt and Camshaft bearing caps and Camshaft itself. To install components the Camshaft position actuators must be aligned with Timing Chain marks before the camshafts should be fitted into the cylinder head and Camshaft actuators assembled. Reinstall the Crankshaft balancer after installing both camshafts and Camshaft bearing caps when you remove the Timing Chain retention tool (EN 46108). After securing the Camshaft position actuators with the open-end wrench prevent Camshaft rotation before moviing to the intake Camshaft position actuator solenoid then Camshaft sensors then Camshaft cover and lastly upper Intake Manifold installation with lower Intake Manifold.
