• Q: How to replace the ignition coil on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?

  A: You should start by removing the Intake Manifold cover and disconnecting the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose from the Intake Manifold. Next disconnect the engine harness electrical connector and Spark Plug Wires (2, 4 and 6) and wires (1, 3 and 5) from the Ignition Coil. Slide off the Ignition Coil bolts to extract the Ignition Coil from its bracket. Before bracket removal secure the engine harness and heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) clips off the Ignition Coil bracket then unfasten bracket bolts/nuts and stud screws if present. Installation begins with stud installation for the Ignition Coil bracket as needed before tightening them 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Then install the Ignition Coil bracket and fasten it using bolts which require a torque setting of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After mounting the Ignition Coil on its bracket, fasten both the ho2s clip and the engine harness clip. To reinstall the Ignition Coil simply place it back onto its bracket while tightening bolts to achieve 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). To finalize reinstallation connect the Spark Plug Wires (1,3,5) and (2,4,6) onto the Ignition Coil then attach the engine harness electrical connector and reposition the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose to the Intake Manifold before installing the Intake Manifold cover.
