To remove the Steering Angle Sensor, raise your vehicle with due respect for your transport vehicle lifting guidelines and the rear wheel steering lifting/jacking notice. Remove the steering gear protection shield by removing the retaining bolts and disconnect the electrical connector. Delicately lift the Steering Angle Sensor cover from the steering gear without cracking the sensor. Then, unbolt the Steering Angle Sensor's retaining bolts. Do not forget to change the steering gear actuator if the boots are damaged, also inspect the inner tie rod boot for damaged or worn parts. Remove the Steering Angle Sensor from the steering gear making sure it does not turn accordingly. For installation, mount the new Steering Angle Sensor onto the steering gear with the o-ring in place. Take off the pin that keeps the location of the new sensor while immediately installing on the steering gear while carefully keeping the pin in the same location. Secure the Steering Angle Sensor with the retaining bolts with loctite 242 blue and tighten to 4 n.m (35 lb in). Replace the Steering Angle Sensor cover and reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, install and tighten the steering gear protection shield and its retaining bolts to 180 n.m (132 lb ft), lower the vehicle and undertake a four wheel alignment.
