How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on GMC Jimmy?

Start shoe replacement by properly supporting the vehicle while it is in a raised position. Begin the replacement process by removing the wheel together with its tire followed by caliper removal with the rotor. The park brake shoe assembly disengages from the hold down spring after sliding it towards the spring. After disengagement remove the shoe from the actuation mechanism. Support the vehicle properly then take off the tire together with the wheel. The procedure for backing plate cable removal involves spring compression toward the lever while depressing locking tabs followed by extracting the cable housing through the plate opening and finally pulling out the cable from its place.
