How to service the knock sensor on GMC Sonoma?

Before beginning Knock Sensor maintenance always disconnect and safely handle the negative Battery Cable while following the specified battery disconnect caution procedures. Start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable but follow the battery disconnect warning. Next remove Distributor and fuel pipe components and disconnect knockout sensor harness connector. First remove the retaining bolt holding the Knock Sensor then extract the sensor. The new Knock Sensor requires bolt installation using 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque specifications. After reconnecting the negative Battery Cable, return the fuel pipes, Distributor and Knock Sensor harness connector in order.
