A: Access the engine compartment and take off the wiper nut caps before discarding them. Turn off the Wiper Arm's nut to detach it from the Wiper Arm . When the Wiper Arm does not release from the pivot shaft by simple rocking action the Wiper Arm puller (J 39637) should be used for removal. After unwiring the Wiper Arm blade slide it off the Wiper Arm and then brush the pivot shaft knurls using a soft wire brush. You need to place the new Wiper Blade onto the Wiper Arm then lift off the Wiper Blade from the windshield to fit the Wiper Arm onto the pivot shaft. Position the Wiper Blade tip at the round marker of the windshield black area and set the passenger side blade and driver side blade tips directly to the alignment dots on each side. Position the Wiper Blade properly and screw the Wiper Arm nut tightly to 33-38 n.m (24-28 lb ft). Set the hood closed by placing new Wiper Arm nut covers on both sides.
A: Start by removing the protective cover from the wiper nut and grip the arm firmly before taking out its mounting nut. A battery terminal puller requires you to push inward at the Wiper Arm pivot to disconnect it from the Drive Shaft if rocking fails to loosen it. After removing the Wiper Arm push the Wiper Arm blade off its spindle and scrub the Drive Shaft knurls with a wire brush. First attach the Wiper Arm blade to its arm before putting the arm onto the Drive Shaft. Reverse the Wiper Blade properly over the dots in the tinted windshield area before attaching the nut at the Drive Shaft and tightening it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). After putting the nut cover back in place use the wiper control to check if everything works right.
Q: How to replace the rear wiper arm on GMC Sonoma?
A: The wiper arm replacement starts by placing the wiper arm into park position. Detach the washer tube from its connection with the vehicle and remove the cap and nut from the wiper arm before taking it off written. Uninstall the wiper arm from its position on the wiper motor shaft. Set the new wiper arm on top of the wiper motor shaft when it points toward the park position and lets the arm rest on the park ramp. Use a wrench to install and fasten the nut to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). After the work is finished secure the washer hose to the vehicle connector and place the cap over the wiper arm.
