    Q:
How to replace the positive battery cable from the 12V battery to the auxiliary BEC on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to change the battery positive cable running to the auxiliary BEC requires disconnecting the negative battery cable. Position the positive battery cable insulating cover to the side of the positive terminal. A counterclockwise rotation of the lever lock enables cable removal while the positive battery cable terminal can be pulled free from battery attachment. Start by taking out the lid from the auxiliary bussed electrical center (BEC) and the underhood junction block cover from its position. You must first raise the junction block retainers off their locked position after rotating them to an open position before you separate the junction block. Unfasten the positive battery cable nut from both the mega fuse stud and the auxiliary BEC stud before disconnecting the positive battery cable connector from the underhood BEC and taking out the positive battery cable assembly from the vehicle. The installation process requires the positive battery cable assembly to reenter its place inside the vehicle before the cable leads connect to both the mega fuse and auxiliary BEC studs. Begin by connecting the positive battery cable connector to the underhood BEC and afterward tighten the positive battery cable nuts at both the auxiliary BEC stud to 9 Nm (80 lb in) torque specification followed by the mega fuse stud using the same torque value. Position the junction block retainer pins into open position before aligning the junction block with all bracket pivots followed by pushing down onto locked position . Position both the junction block cover along with the auxiliary BEC cover and follow by connecting the positive battery cable terminal to the battery. The lever lock should be turned clockwise until a click can be heard to join the positive battery cable followed by placing the positive cable insulating cover over the positive terminal before reattaching the negative battery cable.
