    Q:
How to Replace the Door Emblem on a Savana Pro on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the Savana Pro door emblem/nameplate replacement by obtaining a Heat Gun (J 25070) plus 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Protect and position the door emblem with tape before starting. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the Heat Gun (J 25070) with a 152 mm (6.0 in) distance and circular motion for 30 seconds. Use a plastic flat tool to take off the emblem/nameplate to protect the paint surface. Clean both sides of the door panel and the emblem nameplate before removiving every trace of adhesive. Place tape at this area to show the installing spot when there is no emblem/nameplate sign. Use the Heat Gun (J 25070) to warm the door surface up to at least 21° Celsius or 70° Fahrenheit without touching the adhesive behind it. Secure the front side of the emblem/nameplate over the door panel and remove the remaining backing while doing so. Press the emblem/nameplate gently across the hand to make sure it connects well and check for proper stick with the tape still on the door area.

    Q:
How to ensure proper installation of an emblem on a Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to protect the mounting surface with tape before you install an Emblem/nameplate on the pickup box while using tape for alignment reference points. Use a j 25070 (Heat Gun) to apply circular heat over the Emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds before lifting or removing it with a j 41409 (Body Molding Removal Tool) from the panel surface. Keep the tape on the molding and panel unless it becomes damaged in which case the Emblem/nameplate replacement can proceed. Use adhesive cleaner with a lint-free cloth to clean both the tape and mating surface before proceeding. Continue with the replacement if you observe any damage on the tape. Place the adhesive foam tape onto the back of the new Emblem/nameplate before pressing it onto the surface. To remove adhesive residue on body panels apply 3m(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) p/n 07501). However for plastic panels use varnish makers and painters (VMP) naphtha or a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water solution with a lint-free cloth. The installation area must be cleared of dust and dirt before cleaning it with a lint-free cloth and the same cleaning solution until it dries completely. Organize placement marks 135 mm facing forward from the Tail Light and 330 mm away from the quarter panel ditch unless already present. Heat the mounting area to a temperature range between 27-41°c (80-105°F) while keeping the Emblem/nameplate at 29-32°c (85-90°F). Apply firm pressure across the entire mounting surface after positioning the Emblem or nameplate so it lines up with the measured marks. After completion you should peel off protective tape from the mounting surface.

    Q:
How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the endgate on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the endgate emblem replacement project by obtaining a Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). First place tape pieces to shield and position the endgate emblem area. Heat the emblem/nameplate in circular motions at 152 mm (6 inches) from the surface using the heat gun (J 25070) for 30 seconds. Use a plastic flat tool to lift the emblem/nameplate off the endgate surface. Use a cloth to clean the emblem area on the endgate panel and the reverse side of the emblem/nameplate completely. Mark the proper spot with tape if the emblem/nameplate installation area has no spots defined. Heat the endgate surface using the heat gun (J 25070) to reach minimum 21°C (70°F) but keep the gun away from the emblem adhesive side. Put the emblem/nameplate front end over the endgate panel surface and push it down as you take off its backing. Press the emblem/nameplate onto the surface of the endgate while rolling it by hand to make sure it sticks well and check for proper bonding before taking tape off from the surrounding area.

    Q:
How to replace or repair a emblem/nameplate on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin your repair by obtaining two specific tools which are a J25070 heat gun and a J41409 body molding removal tool. You need to put tape over the mounting area to prepare the surface for the next steps. Press the J 25070 heat gun over the emblem-nameplate in round motions for 30 seconds before you slide out the part with J 41409 tool. Clean both the panel surface and the molding along with adhesive tape using adhesive cleaner and cloth. Replace only when tape cannot be saved. Install the new emblem-nameplate by applying window-adhesive foam to its back surface then pressing it onto position. For body panel removal use a 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P-N 07501) while plastic panels need a lint-free cloth with VMP naphtha or 50-50 isopropyl alcohol diluted in water. Use the same naphtha or alcohol mixture to clean and dry both the installation space and remaining dust before starting installation. Use tape as a placeholder when the correct installation spot not visible. Prepare your mounting surface to run between 80 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit while keeping the emblem-nameplate temperature between 85 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Transfer the liner from the back of the emblem-nameplate and place it in the indicated position before pushing it strongly onto the surface with uniform pressure. Take off the protective tape from the chosen mounting area.

    Q:
How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the endgate on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Cover the emblem area with tape to protect both it and the gate surface during replacement (regular model). The J25070 heat gun oriented 6.0 inches from the surface should be used for 30 seconds while circling the emblem/nameplate to create needed heat. Use a plastic tool to take out the endgate emblem/nameplate by heating it on a surface with a heat gun. Soak 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) into a cloth or use the tool to scrap away adhesive residue from the endgate panel surface and back side of emblem/nameplate. Wipe the endgate surface with VMP naptha available for varnish makers and painters. Reapply the tape to mark the space if the original placement mark was nonexistent. Heat the endgate surface using the heat gun (J 25070) at 152 mm (6.0 inch) distance until it achieves at least 21°C (70°F). Do not touch the adhesive and carefully peel off the backing from the beginning of the emblem/nameplate assembly. Apply the emblem/nameplate gently against the endgate panel as you remove the protective backing layer. Finish by rolling the this item across your hand to ensure full stickiness. Check the emblem/nameplate contact and strip the tape from the endgate emblem area.

    Q:
How to replace the door emblem/nameplate (W/O SS) on Chevrolet Silverado 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First protect and align the emblem area using tape before you can start replacing the door emblem/nameplate (W/O SS). Use a heat gun (J 25070) to heat the emblem/nameplate from a distance of 152 mm (6.0 in) in a circular motion for about thirty seconds. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the door surface by applyinggentle pressure with a flat-blade plastic tool. Application of a 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) or equivalent product removes all residue from the door panel's surface and back of the emblem/nameplate. The door surface requires a treatment with varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha for cleaning. The unmarked emblem/nameplate area requires the application of new tape. Appliying the heat gun (J 25070) to a minimum temperature of 21°C (70°F) should warm the surface of the door while keeping your hands away from touching the emblem/nameplate adhesive backing. Place the front end of the emblem/nameplate on the door panel surface after taking off its front side backing. Then continue removing backing until the placement is correct. Roll the emblem/nameplate across the door panel with your hands to establish proper bonding then check for complete attachment followed by tape removal from the door panel's surrounding area.

    Q:
How to replace or repair an emblem/nameplate on a pickup box on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
You can start the pickup box Emblem/nameplate repair by covering the surface with tape before you use tape to mark its placement during assembly. Warm the Emblem/nameplate with j 25070 heat gun (J 25070) in slow circles for 30 seconds afterward use j 41409 body molding removal tool (J 41409) to pull it off the panel surface. Keep the tape attached and work with cleaning supplies to handle the intact tape along with the mating surface. Handle a new replacement when the tape sustains harm. Stick adhesive foam tape onto the back of the new Emblem/nameplate and press it onto its designated location. Use a 3m(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk model 07501 for body panel parts or rub with varnish makers and painters naphtha and water solution through a lint-free cloth for plastic parts. Dust the installation area clean and prepare it using a lint-free cloth dipped in the same cleaning solution. Then fully dry the area before proceeding. Set the installation point 135 mm forward of the Tail Light and 330 mm from the quarterpanel ditch unless marked earlier. Heat the mounting surface to between 27 and 41 degrees celsius (80 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit) as you keep the Emblem/nameplate at 29 to 32 degrees celsius (85 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit). After trimming the protective layer on the back of the Emblem/nameplate apply it to its marked position on the mounting surface then press down evenly across its entire surface. Take away the protective film from its intended area of installation.
