Upper Hinge, Rear Driver Side

Start by supporting the door and remove the intermediate door hinge bolts and the hinge spring before changing the rear door hinge. Start by cleaning the mounting area of the door hinges and use grease pencil to mark their position. Start by cleaning the body pillar mounting surface of the hinge followed by marking its position while cleaning the door side hinge bolts of their components before removing the side hinge. The process of installing the new hinge requires avoiding cone adjuster bolt loosening to prevent its entry within the pillar. The installer should first remove these two 13 mm body side hinge bolts with accompanying body side hinge before moving forward. The hinge alignment should match existing marks before installing door side hinge bolts along with a locking agent (GM P/N 12345382 Locktite(R) Blue) and softly tighten the bolts. The new body side hinge should align with the previous markings before installation of both the hinge bolts along with a Light application of Locktite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or Canadian P/N 10953489 followed by a light tightening of bolts. Install the door to add the intermediate bolts followed by the hinge spring and the intermediate door hinge bolts that must be tightened to 33 Nm (24 lb ft) together with body side and door side hinge bolts. End the process by removing the support then readjusting and closing the door.

Position the door to install the intermediate bolts, then install the hinge spring and the intermediate door hinge bolts, tightening them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft), along with the body side and door side hinge bolts.

Align the new body side hinge with the old marks, apply Locktite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or Canadian P/N 10953489 before installing the 13 mm body side hinge bolts, and lightly tighten them.

Install the intermediate door hinge bolts and tighten them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft), as well as the body side and door side hinge bolts to the same torque.

The body side door hinge has four attaching bolts: two 13 mm bolts, one TORX(R) bolt, and one 10 mm bolt.

Align the new hinge with the old alignment marks, apply Locktite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or equivalent to the door side hinge bolts, and install them lightly tightened.

Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts and the hinge spring.

Move the door away from the front pillar as far as the conduit allows.

Begin by opening and supporting the door.
