A/C Hose

Recovery of refrigerant from the a/c system starts the replacement process of the front evaporator tube. The next action is to remove the coolant recovery reservoir together with the grille. To begin the replacement the front evaporator hose nut should be detached from the condenser before removing the evaporator inlet hose nut from the front evaporator tube hose. Disassemble the front hose evaporator inlet hose from the nipple and the tube between the rear of the evaporator. Pull out the front evaporator hose from the vehicle before you uninstall the sealing washers. Set the new sealing washers while inserting the front evaporator tube into the vehicle to connect with the rear evaporator tube. Fasten the rear evaporator tube retaining nut with 16 n.m torque while maintaining a 12 lb ft force. Next proceed with the attachment of the evaporator inlet hose to the front evaporator tube and secure it with the evaporator inlet hose nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The front evaporator tube requires connection to the condenser while using the front evaporator tube nut to secure it with torque set to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The procedure ends with reinstallation of the grille and coolant recovery reservoir followed by a/c system evacuation and recharging while using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) for the components' fittings leak inspection.

Recovery of refrigerant must be performed first before proceeding to replace the front tube of the air conditioning Evaporator. Start by removing the coolant recovery reservoir and after that take off the grille on the vehicle front. You must detach the front Evaporator hose nut from the condenser and the Evaporator inlet hose nut from the front Evaporator tube hose. Then you can remove the Evaporator inlet hose from the front hose and the nut from the rear Evaporator (if equipped). Next remove the front Evaporator hose from the vehicle while also taking out the sealing washers. To install the system start by adding new sealing washers before inserting the front Evaporator tube into the vehicle while connecting it to the rear Evaporator tube. You should install the retaining nut on the rear Evaporator tube (if your vehicle has this component) to a torque of 16 nm (12 lb ft). Fasten the Evaporator inlet hose to the front Evaporator tube through the inlet hose nut before tightening it to 16 nm (12 lb ft). Placing the front Evaporator tube along the condenser requires tightening its front Evaporator tube nut to 16 nm (12 lb ft). The procedure ends with reinstalling the grille along with the coolant recovery reservoir. Evacuation and recharge the a/c system while conducting leak detection scanning on all fitted components through the use of j 39400-a halogen leak detector.

Tighten the forcing screw while holding the tool body with a 3/8" breaker bar until the connector collars bottom out on the center shoulder of the LOK fitting.

Attach the evaporator inlet hose to the front evaporator tube and secure it with the evaporator inlet hose nut, also tightening it to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir and perform a leak test on the fittings using the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).

Connect the evaporator tube to the auxiliary evaporator core, ensuring to tighten the hose fitting to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

Remove the passenger side body mount bolts.

Install the new sealing washers and the front evaporator tube into the vehicle, connecting it to the rear evaporator tube.

Connect the front evaporator tube to the condenser and tighten the front evaporator tube nut to the condenser to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Connect the evaporator tube to the auxiliary evaporator core, tightening the hose fitting to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

Lower the vehicle and, if applicable, install the rear suction line nut, tightening it to 16 N.m (12 lb ft), followed by the suction line nut to the accumulator, also tightened to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

First, recover the refrigerant.

Remove the suction line bolt from the compressor and take out the suction line from the vehicle.

Take out the front evaporator hose from the vehicle, along with the sealing washers.

Lower the passenger side of the body onto the frame.

Remove the coolant recovery reservoir and the suction line nut from the accumulator.

Connect the evaporator tube to the auxiliary evaporator core, tightening the hose fitting to 48 N.m (35 lb ft).

Take out the evaporator outlet tube and the sealing washers.

Detach the discharge line nut from the condenser and the discharge line bolt from the compressor.

Install the evaporator outlet tube retaining nut, tightening it to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Lower the vehicle once more and reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir.

Reinstall the grille, raise the vehicle again, and connect the discharge hose to the compressor, securing it with the compressor bolt tightened to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

Loosen the forcing screw and remove the tool, then verify the installation of the LOK fittings.
